What to eat in Queenstown? (10 Places to eat in Queenstown)

This is a post on what I had during my stay trip Queenstown. You can find 10 Places to eat in Queenstown in this post.

Check out my itinerary if you haven’t, and some other foods to share as well. The town is really small so you won’t get lost by searching the shop it is very easy to locate. The restaurants and bars are all gathered together.

1. Fregburger

Well first of all I think every one who touch down in Queenstown on their first day they will have Fergburger as their first meal! Because is the first thing that come in mind! (or izzit only me?)  Fergburger also know as the best burger in the world!!! Some how, I think is kinda overrated. Although I ate it twice LOL!

The crowd is there and we waited 15min for our burgers. Some claim it took 30-45min to get their burger we were lucky because it was not peak time!

Our fregburgers!

Is really huge!! Let’s have a close up picture.

Mine Chief Wiggum which is pork belly and the original The Fregburger which consist of beef with blue cheese.

Chief Wiggum is really for pork belly freak! I cant even finish it. I also tried their “Little Lamby” (on the other day) and I prefer it over the Chief Wiggum, not a pork belly fan after all.

2. Fergbaker

They serve really good pie and all the pies are priced around $4- $6.50. I tried 3 of their pies; Chicken Bacon Mushroom, Vension& Portabello Mushroom and not forgetting le bf favourite pork belly pie. I must say I like their pies more than their burger. Opps no picture did not take it and there is no dine it too; we ate it immediately on our way home. It just located beside Fregbaker.

3. Flame Bar & Grill

I love this so much places! Is warm and cosy and the food is really nice do go there early because this place is full of people during dinner time.

My entrée; Green lipped NZ Mussels at $17.5 and Chicken Wing at $14. The chicken wing claim to be spicy be is just sweet and a little spice not spicy at all! The mussels is my favourite and the cream sauce is just so nice.

Flame Mixed Grill
Flame Mixed Grill

The mains; Flame mixed grill which is a 1 person portion and is like a combo set where we have ribs and sirloin steak this is priced at $42. One word : GOOD!

Flame Bar and grill is located upstairs which is just right beside Movenpick ice cream shop.

4. Pj’s Fish & Chips

I had their Battered fish & chips for $12 and also Bluff Oyster (the oyster is seasonal). Nice and cheap! Their price are cheaper than Fish Bone for bluff oyster.( Din’t get to try fish bone because we found another cheaper alternative too.) Le bf had Battered Sausage meal with curry sauce (please don’t order the curry sauce is not nice taste like some packaging curry in my opinion)

Pj’s Fish & Chips is just located opposite O’Connell, If you at The Station just cross to the opposite and head up.It is just right beside Kiwi Discovery shop.

Posing with my ice cream this is the dessert I had right after dinner at Flames. I order two scoops one in Patagonia dark chocolate & macadamia and the other flavour is Caramel. The dark chocolate is very rich in flavour.

6. Winnies Pizza

Winnies pizza is so good and is a right place to share among friends they have different types of pizza to choose from.

I got mine by mixing Tri Factor (Ultimate Beef pizza) & Pescara (The seafood pizza)

Winnies Pizza

Pescara is very juicy and you can taste the mussels (sorry I’m obsess with it) and salmon is very fresh (you feel like swimming in the ocean LOL). Le Bf tri factor is one of their best seller it consist the combination of prime steak cuts and bacon (very beefy lol). We get to take away we can’t finish the Large Pizza and that left over is our Supper and Lunch sweet!

7. Brazz Restaurant & Bar

Mussels

Another combo which cost $42 and Brazz pork ribs is really nice but for combo portion flames is larger. Located opposite Pig & Whistle Pub.

8. Alpine Mart

There are few days we bought food from Alpine Mart and we cooked it at our Lodge. You can find great deals in Alpine Mart too. They will have some discounts on roasted chicken or sausages and even rice and more after 7.30pm and some cost only $3-4 which is a great deal.

Besides you can also find a great deal for bluff oysters!

Bluff Oyster from Alpine Mart

One box of this which only cost $14 is in a dozen! This is the cheapest bluff oyster I can get so far. And is very fresh too!

Get to tried this three wine at the wine tasting room. 3 wine tasting cost $5 and the staff is very friendly in sharing the wine info to us.

Riesling 2013 is one of my favourite! Is hard to purchase Riesling 2013 and the airport does not have it either and is much more cheaper to buy Gibston Wine in here.

Miam Miam @ One Utama

Yeah! Miam Miam is finally here in Klang Valley. If you are aware that there is a hype on this restaurant cafe quite sometime and is located in Penang only!!! Glad they open it in One Utama.

It is located at Ground Floor (New Wing) opposite Pasta Zanmai and just right beside Sun Moulin.

Tried the most hype French Toast and yes the whipped cream is really special. The texture is smooth and is just right combination with the toast. The only draw back was the toast is not warm enough when it was served, but overall is still nice . The French Toast cost RM16.80 before tax.

We order Vanilla Souffle to try and le bf said is very very sweet. I guess I was just sugar high after eating it (hahahah) the portion was really small.  The Vanilla Souffle cost RM16.80 before tax.

Will be back to try out their main course and other dessert. Really happy to find out that they opened Miam Miam at One Utama. Is an ease and less hassle for KL dessert-holic like us to travel all to way to Penang (muahahahha).

Oh the drawback on Miam Miam One Utama was it was really quite noisy in there.

Let Them Eat Cake -Bangkok Dessert

This a newly spotted dessert place (for me hahaha) that is just located at Siam Square previously they only have it in mille malle square at Soi Sukhumvit 20. This is a french pastry.

Form the first taste, kinda weird for me because I hardly had this kind of dessert but after a few bites the taste feel special but yet still a less dessert type/taste that I would order. This cost 185 THB

This restaurant is real famous! It offers 8 flavours of Samgyupsal and gosh this is the best Samgyupsal that I had ever taste in my life (real soft & tender). When you order it comes with a seafood soup (soup are fresh) set.

Is a small tea house and quite famous around the local. We order “patjuk” which means red bean porridge which cost 6000 won per bowl. Its best match with the mochi they gave the taste very traditional. What I observe is that all the locals order this as well.

Osteria Real Blue Solaris Dutamas Publika

Osteria RealBlue is an Italian restaurant that serve real good Italian authentic food. Bring boyfie to try it out since I wanted him to try their risotto coz he loves to eat risotto and is his birthday dinner as well.

Osteria RealBlue is just located above paparich and if you are in Publika is just out the Nando’s exit on your right hand side.

The lady boss Sherry and staff great us with a warm welcome and she also ask our opinion on what type of dish we would like to eat.  Also taste and preference so she can recommend to us their best dish.  Is really helpful since some of the menu is written in Italian word we cant really know what’s the dish is really about.

We are served with white breads and they have one special sauce that look like our Malaysian sambal but Sherry said that she learn to cook this sauce from the Italians, weird right? coz is really taste like ours and they use anchovies to cook it. sorry no picture missed snapping it.
Gamberi Con Prosciutto

This is our appetizer it is scallop wrapped with bacon cooked with garlic oil I guess and wow the sauce really amazed us when we dip our bread to go with it. The scallop was so fresh and is a big one indeed.
Ravioli di Pesce

This is what I ordered is basically a type of pasta with saffron sauce  that look like “wantan” hahaha for the filling have seafood in it and I really can taste the freshness of the fish not sure what fish they use but is taste really good.
Risotto Tartufo

Next is the Risotto Tartufo is basically “Risotto with Truffle”. The taste is really nice and savoury. Hard to describe it hahahah… I think they really cook a good risotto! Will try their others type of risotto on next my visit!
Panna Cotta

Received this  dessert treat from Sherry because of my boyfie birthday. Is an gelatin dessert with blueberry & Hershey chocolate sauce on it. Like the texture is really soft.

A good dinner indeed! Contact Sherry for reservation!
